Job summary

Routes Healthcare (North) Limited is recruiting for a complex care role supporting a university student in his daily living, community access, and university attendance. You will accompany him to university 3–4 times per week and provide care across evenings and waking nights, ensuring independence and dignity.

The role offers a mileage allowance of 30p per mile, guaranteed hours after probation, and a fully funded Enhanced DBS, with development opportunities through Routes Academy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' paid UK care experience.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is preferred.
• Right to work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with bathing and personal care.
• Assist with creams and bandaging as prescribed.
• Support pain management per care plans and dietary needs.
• Assist mobility and daily activities; promote independence.
• Support client to university and community activities 3–4 times weekly.
• Maintain care records and report concerns.

Job description

Pay Rate: £17.93 per hour (including holiday pay) + 30p per mile

Plus: Fully funded Enhanced DBS and guaranteed hours available after successful completion of probation.

About the Client

We are recruiting for a rewarding complex care package supporting university student. The client requires support with all aspects of daily living, enabling client to remain independent at home, in the community, and while attending university.

Staff will accompany the client to university 3-4 times per week and provide support throughout his day.

Duties Include

• Supporting with bathing and personal care
• Applying prescribed creams and assisting with bandaging
• Supporting pain management in line with care plans
• Assisting with dietary and nutritional requirements
• Supporting mobility and daily activities
• Accompanying the client to university and community activities
• Promoting independence, dignity, and choice
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Maintaining accurate care records and reporting concerns appropriately

What We’re Looking For

• Right to work in the UK
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Minimum of 6 months' paid UK care experience
• Compassionate, reliable, and person-centred approach to care
• Willingness to undertake specialist complex care training
• Experience within complex care
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
