Job summary

Compass Lexecon in London is seeking a Research Analyst to join the Competition Practice on a two‑year fixed‑term basis. You will analyse large client data sets, connect economic theory with empirical evidence, and contribute to high‑profile competition cases under expert guidance.

Ideal candidates hold an economics degree, are highly analytical, and can communicate clearly with clients and colleagues. Hybrid London role with strong learning opportunities and postgraduate study sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in economics with microeconomics/industrial organisation/econometrics focus.
  • Highly analytical with strong numerical and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Clear communication with colleagues and clients, accurate and detail‑oriented.
  • Stata and Excel skills are desirable for data work.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret client data to deeply understand competition in the industry.
  • Research how firms compete and identify key variables affecting decisions.
  • Identify and summarise facts to understand the client’s sector.
  • Take responsibility for quality control and error-free work product.
  • Draft reports interpreting and summarising the analysis.
