Job summary

Compass Lexecon in London is seeking junior economists as Research Analysts to assist on competition policy matters. You'll work on analysing data, modelling economic effects, and preparing explanations for clients and authorities.

This two-year fixed-term position offers exposure to high-profile merger and conduct analysis, with a strong emphasis on rigorous empirical evidence and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in economics, with microeconomics/IO and econometrics preferred.
• Highly analytical with strong quantitative skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Effective communicator with colleagues and clients.
• Accurate and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Stata and Excel skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret large client data to understand competition in industry.
• Analyse customer, price, cost, and market share data.
• Research how firms compete and identify key decision drivers.
• Identify and summarise relevant facts about client industry.
• Take responsibility for quality control and error-free work.
• Draft reports interpreting and summarising analysis.
