Compass Lexecon in London is seeking a Research Analyst to join the Competition Practice on a two‑year fixed‑term basis. You will analyse large client data sets, connect economic theory with empirical evidence, and contribute to high‑profile competition cases under expert guidance.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in economics with microeconomics/industrial organisation/econometrics focus.
  • Highly analytical with strong numerical and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Clear communication with colleagues and clients, accurate and detail‑oriented.
  • Stata and Excel skills are desirable for data work.

As a Research Analyst, you will become an integral part of a project team tasked with advising on the competitive impact of a merger or conduct. You will have a critical role in researching, analysing and interpreting the way that competition works in your client’s industry. Your analysis will form the fundamental basis of expert advice that will be given to clients, competition authorities and/or courts. You will work closely with your team to understand the issues that face the client, relating those issues to relevant economic theory, and supporting the analysis with solid and persuasive empirical evidence.Research Analysts join us after completing their **undergraduate degree** in a quantitative subject. If you are in the process of completing or have already completed a Master's degree in economics, we would encourage you to apply to the Analyst position.
