Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks a Compensation & Benefits specialist to support the design, benchmarking, and administration of pay and benefits. You will analyse data, produce insightful reports, and guide managers on salary reviews and equity considerations.

The role involves coordinating with People, Payroll, Finance, and external providers to ensure competitive programmes while maintaining GDPR compliance and data accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Compensation, Benefits, Reward, or HR Specialist role.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of benchmarking methodologies and benefits administration.
  • Experience leading or supporting annual salary review cycles.
  • Understanding of employment legislation, equal pay principles, and data privacy.
  • Ability to work at pace and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies and compensation survey providers is a plus.
  • Professional HR qualification (CIPD Level 5 or above) is advantageous.
  • Experience using Power BI or other reporting tools is handy.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programmes and policies.
  • Conducting market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure competitive pay positioning.
  • Assisting with annual compensation review processes.
  • Analysing compensation data and providing recommendations based on market trends and internal equity.
  • Producing compensation reports, dashboards, and insights for the People team and business leaders.
  • Administering employee reward & benefits programmes, including pensions, healthcare, life assurance, wellbeing initiatives, and voluntary benefits.
  • Managing relationships with benefits providers and brokers.
  • Supporting benefits renewals, enrolment activities, and communications campaigns.
  • Monitoring benefits utilisation and recommending enhancements to improve value and engagement.
  • Assisting in reviewing reward & benefits offerings to ensure they remain competitive and cost-effective.
  • Ensuring compensation practices comply with relevant employment and equal pay legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate compensation and benefits data within people systems.
  • Preparing regular reports on workforce costs, compensation trends, and benefits participation.
  • Supporting audits and compliance reviews relating to reward programmes.
  • Ensuring GDPR and data privacy requirements when handling employee information.
  • Partnering with the People Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless delivery of programmes.
  • Supporting managers and employees with compensation-related queries and guidance.
  • Assisting with employee communications and training regarding compensation and benefits programmes.

  • Experience using Power BI or other reporting tools (handy but not essential)

Demonstrates expertise in compensation and benefits administration, including market benchmarking, data analysis, and compliance with employment legislation. Proficient in stakeholder management and communication to support effective compensation programmes and employee engagement.
