Job summary

Howden Junior School is seeking a compassionate and engaging Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs, aiding their access to the curriculum and encouraging independence.

The role involves working with individuals or small groups, assisting in language, literacy, numeracy, and ICT, and collaborating with teachers and the SENCO. Salary is£19,478.38 per annum, paid in 12 monthly instalments.

Qualifications

• Level 2 ELSA qualification or equivalent.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties to access the curriculum.
• Work with individuals or small groups of pupils.
• Assist in areas such as language, behaviour, reading, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, ICT, social skills and EAL.
• Meet the physical needs of pupils and encourage independence.
• Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs.
