Job summary

Leicestershire County Council in Wigston is seeking a Female Support Worker to deliver person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and physical/sensory needs at Waterlees Supported Living. The 30-hour-per-week permanent role involves flexing across a 7:00–22:00 rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

No prior care experience is required as training and mentoring are provided, with progression opportunities within a large public sector organisation and access to the

Qualifications

• Commitment to high quality care that maximises independence and follows regulations.
• Ability to use equipment to assist with moving and support people with complex needs.
• Effective communication including alternative methods (e.g., Makaton, picture boards).
• Good organisational skills to manage workloads and prioritise tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including crisis response.
• IT and written skills to maintain clear records.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rota including weekends/bank holidays.
