Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting for a permanent Support Worker to join Melton Short Breaks & Supported Living Services. The role involves overnight/supported living support for adults with learning differences, providing person-centred care and maintaining records.

No prior care experience is required; training will be provided. The post requires a DBS check and is open to applicants able to work a flexible rota including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality care and support which maximises independence, is anti-discriminatory, and adheres to relevant regulations and procedures.
• Ability to use available equipment to assist with moving and handling service users and to support people with complex needs.
• Effective communication skills, including engagement with service users who may use alternative communication methods.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
• Be responsive to meet the changing needs of a 24/7 service, including flexible weekend/bank holiday work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day care and support to adults in Short Breaks and Supported Living Services.
• Provide assistance with personal care, promote choice and maximise independence.
• Work in accordance with the organisation's codes of conduct and safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain clear, concise records and participate in service rota including weekends and bank holidays.
