Job summary

Outward is seeking proactive, compassionate Support Workers to assist young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs in North East London. This permanent, full-time role is 38 hours per week with a salary of £29,334 per annum pro rata.

You will work under the Deputy Manager or Team Manager, delivering person-centred support, contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and daily engagement to enable meaningful, independent lives.

Qualifications

  • Safeguarding and risk management in care settings.
  • GDPR, data protection principles.
  • Understanding of health and safety in supported housing or care environments.
  • Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship not provided).
  • Confidentiality duties and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to achieve personal goals and outcomes per support plans.
  • Provide direct, person-centred support promoting dignity, independence and inclusion.
  • Assist with daily living activities (personal care, meals, medication, budgeting, community access).
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, social workers and external agencies.
  • Carry out key-worker duties: develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records per organisational policies.
  • Safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of those supported; follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Identify, assess and report risks, incidents or safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide support respecting individual needs, culture and communication styles.
  • Encourage participation in social, educational and employment activities.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide emotional support and positive behaviour support when needed.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision and ongoing training.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and GDPR compliance.
  • Flex across services including evenings, weekends, waking nights and bank holidays.
