Job summary

Kerry Collins Recruitment is seeking compassionate Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants to join a variety of care settings in the United Kingdom. You will provide personalised care, support seniors and individuals with dementia, and ensure dignity and respect in daily activities.

The role involves patient care, medication administration where appropriate, and collaboration with healthcare teams to implement care plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior care or hospice care preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia care principles advantageous.
• Ability to administer medication safely.
• Experience in home care settings or nursing homes beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Empathy, patience and genuine desire to help others.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and grooming.
• Offer dementia care support, ensuring a safe and comforting environment for individuals experiencing cognitive challenges.
• Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met according to dietary requirements.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor the health status of clients, reporting any changes to relevant professionals.
• Engage in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for clients.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations during shifts.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
