Job summary

You Matter is seeking a compassionate Support Worker in Runcorn to provide unconditional support for residents experiencing homelessness and addiction issues. You will work with the Director of Homeless Services and the Operational Leadership Team to deliver high‑quality service delivery and safe, empowering environments.

The role is 19.5 hours per week, permanent/Fixed Term, with a pro rata salary of £30,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Background in charity, community projects or homelessness sector.
• Updated: ensure focus per 140 chars max
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing law; health and safety in workplace.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming new residents and carrying out risk assessments.
• 2nd: ensure basic needs incl. accommodation, food and guidance.
• Promote welfare of adults/children/young people at risk.
• Advocate for social inclusion and access to health/financial support.
• Manage Housing Benefit and Service Charges.
• Develop and review written support plans with residents.
• Coordinate with health services for physical/mental health.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Raise health and safety and maintenance issues.
• Participate in team meetings and supervision.
• Adhere to SHREK values and inclusive culture.
• Promote a supportive culture valuing diversity.
