Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited in East London is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant - Personal Care to support students with additional needs throughout the college day. The role combines classroom assistance with personal care, ensuring learners can access studies with dignity and confidence.

You will work with teaching staff and the support team, building trusting relationships and adapting activities to individual needs while safeguarding and promoting independence.

Pay: 17.50 per hour Umbrella rate

About the role

Are you a caring and dependable individual who wants to make a real difference to the lives of students with additional needs?

As a Personal Care Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with students to support their learning, wellbeing and independence throughout the college day. You'll provide both classroom support and personal care, helping students to access their studies with dignity and confidence.

You'll work alongside teaching staff and the wider support team, building positive relationships with the students you work with and adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing personal care to students in a respectful and dignified manner.

• Supporting students with additional needs to access learning within the classroom.

• Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in college life.

• Working closely with teaching staff to adapt activities and materials to individual needs.

• Building trusting relationships with students and communicating their needs to the wider team.
