Job summary

UKCIL Ltd. is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support a 30-year-old man with complex needs in Church Fenton, near Tadcaster. The role offers 30 hours per week with a mixed weekend and night rota and a four-week rotating pattern.

Full training is provided, with opportunities for additional hours during sickness or leave. You will deliver one-to-one personal and practical care, administer medications including insulin and epilepsy meds, assist PEG feeding, and support daily activities.

Qualifications

• Care experience is desirable; full training and ongoing support provided.
• Non-verbal communication abilities are essential.
• Reliable, patient and genuinely caring for others.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and practical support, maintaining dignity and independence.
• Administer medication, including epilepsy medication and insulin as prescribed.
• Support PEG feeding regime alongside oral feeding.
• Carry out daily physiotherapy and sensory activities.
• Assist with activities and accompany to hydrotherapy, carriage riding and outings.
• Work one-to-one for most shifts with occasional double-up support.
• Complete daily care records and medication sheets.
• Perform household duties including cleaning, laundry and washing.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing at all times and provide companionship.
• Communicate with the client through non-verbal cues and observations.
