Job summary

Penderels Trust in Birmingham is seeking a kind, patient personal assistant to support a 32-year-old woman with autism and learning difficulties. This role involves 2:1 support in the community, helping her enjoy activities and stay safe and confident. Hours are Tuesdays 10.00am–3.00pm with some flexibility.

A car driver is preferred but not essential. DBS disclosure is required (costs covered). You will help with transport to activities and encourage socialisation, with a focus on building

Qualifications

• Support and accompany the individual to activities and travel between locations.
• Provide 2:1 support in community settings and promote independence.
• DBS disclosure is required and costs are covered.

Responsibilities

• Help the individual get to school/work/activities.
• Encourage socialising and participation in leisure activities.
• Build a trusting one-to-one relationship and monitor safety.
• Follow safety reporting procedures and communicate any incidents.
