Job summary

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Theatre Practitioner to join our busy theatre team in Bury St Edmunds. You will work under the direction of the team leader and provide high standard, evidence-based patient care in anaesthetic, surgical and recovery roles.

With appropriate training you will perform a full range of theatre duties, maintain patient safety, dignity and confidentiality, and support multidisciplinary colleagues across main theatre and day surgery settings.

Qualifications

• 1st Level Nurse on part 1 or 12 of the NMC Register or HCPC Register.
• ENB 998 or C&G 730 qualification is required.
• A1 Assessors award is desirable.
• ENB 176/183/182 or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Preparation for Mentorship is expected.
• Specific Theatre qualification or equivalent ability is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC/HCPC code of conduct and within limits of competence.
• With appropriate training, undertake a full range of theatre duties in anaesthetic/surgical/recovery roles.
• Ensure patient safety, dignity, confidentiality and comfort are paramount.
• Respect patients' rights and act as their advocate when needed.
