Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking an Enhanced Passenger Assistant to provide safe and supportive transport for vulnerable clients, including children in care and adults with varying needs. The role is permanent, 16 hours per week (term time only) on a fixed location in Westland Road, LS11 5SB, Leeds.

You will join a large team delivering school transport, ensuring safety, wellbeing and positive passenger experiences. DBS is required and flexibility to cover shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Pass the PATS PLUS training within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Attend to passengers' personal needs, hygiene, first aid and wellbeing.
• Support passengers with complex medical needs and emergency support.
• Assist passengers who use communication aids; may use sign language.
• Assist with wheelchairs and equipment as directed.
• Supervise pupils ensuring health, safety and wellbeing.
