Job summary

Furze Platt Senior School in Maidenhead is seeking a Part-time School Medical Assistant to support the School Medical Office. You will deliver first aid, manage the medical room, and provide compassionate care to students and staff.

The role requires strong organisational skills, sensitivity, and the ability to liaise with parents regarding medicines on trips. 25 hours per week, primarily 9.30am–2.30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people in a school setting is advantageous.
• Ability to log visits and maintain medical records.
• Demonstrates compassionate, adaptable approach with strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care within the boundaries of the role, focusing on student well-being and health education.
• Assist with the management of the medical room on a day-to-day basis, in accordance with the First Aid Policy.
• Administer First Aid and medical provision to students and staff as necessary.
• Log visits by students and staff including any treatment and follow up treatment.
• Assist with the organisation of immunisations and stock control of first aid kits.
• Liaise with parents on issues related to medicines for school trips and residentials.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free medical room and assist Front Office as needed.
