Job summary

St Catherine's Hospice in Preston is seeking a Palliative Care Registered Nurse to join our compassionate team delivering holistic, evidence-based care at end of life. You will work across MDTs to support patients and families with dignity and comfort.

The post requires current NMC registration and a commitment to continuous learning, teamwork, and quality improvement within a hospice environment. You will cover day and night shifts across clinical services, contributing to discharge planning

Qualifications

Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
Commitment to delivering high-quality palliative and end-of-life care.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to engage in ongoing learning and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, holistic, evidence-based nursing care for patients with palliative needs, working closely with the MDT.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans focused on comfort, dignity and goals.
Administer and monitor medicines in line with hospice policies and NMC standards.
Communicate sensitively with patients and families, promoting shared decision-making.
Maintain accurate documentation on the electronic patient record system and contribute to quality improvement.
Support safe discharge planning and smooth transitions of care across services.
