Job summary

Ambitious about Autism is seeking a Residential Waking Night Support Worker to help autistic learners feel safe, supported and cared for during night hours at St John's College.

In this role you will stay awake and vigilant, carry out checks, assist with personal and medical needs, monitor health in line with care plans, complete handovers and collaborate with night staff across residential homes. A calm, dependable, values-driven candidate with safeguarding and communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working in care or education is helpful but not essential.
• Ability to stay calm, be vigilant at night and safeguard learners.
• Strong written communication and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Stay awake and vigilant to ensure learner safety and wellbeing.
• Carry out regular checks of the home and respond to concerns.
• Support learners with personal care and medical needs as required.
• Monitor health needs in line with care plans.
• Complete accurate handovers and written records.
• Work with night staff across residential homes.
