Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is recruiting for a compassionate Mortuary Assistant to join the Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services network.

You will input patient data, dispose of contaminated materials safely, handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries, and prepare bodies for viewing and release to undertakers. Immunisation records are required; interviews planned week commencing 9 November.

Responsibilities

• Input accurate and timely patient data on Trust computerised systems.
• Safe disposal of contaminated materials, including sharps and confidential waste.
• Undertake telephone and face-to-face enquiries professionally.
• Prepare the bodies of deceased patients for viewing in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
• Prepare the bodies of deceased patients for release to undertakers in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
• Dispatching and posting of samples to authorised persons and laboratories ensuring compliance with regulations.
