Job summary

Jewish Care seeks an Activities Assistant & Driver to join our team in a dual role supporting older people. You will drive safely between homes and the centre, assist with boarding, and help welcome participants at the start of the day.

At the centre you will lead activities such as chair-based exercise, discussion groups, games and social events, while supporting care plans and personal care when needed. This role blends transport and activity delivery to enrich daily life.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence with D1 category.
• Midas (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) training or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Providing safe and effective driving for older people.
• Ensuring vehicles are clean and roadworthy; coordinate maintenance.
• Engaging with members during journeys to provide reassurance.
• Assist passengers to and from their homes.
• Raising safeguarding concerns to improve wellbeing.
• Run and participate in activities within a Jewish Day service for older people.
• Support programming teams with tech to enable online activities.
• Coordinate transport arrangements to and from the centre.
