Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to deliver high-quality meals and care across our dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will assist with meal preparation, serve meals warmly, and help keep the kitchen clean and safe.

You should have kitchen experience, be willing to work towards an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, and demonstrate organisational skills, attention to detail, and genuine kindness in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Kindness, respect and patience when interacting with Residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under supervision of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Coach new team members on safe use of kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
