Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group in Leeds is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the catering function, assist with food preparation, and maintain a clean environment to ensure safe, high-quality meals for residents.

The role requires a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, good health and safety knowledge, and the ability to work under a demanding workload while showing care for residents. DBS check will be funded by Avery, and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving & Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH.
• Be an efficient worker, capable of sustaining physical effort under a demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative and a positive, flexible attitude to teamwork.
• Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is to support the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents.
• Understanding the principles of safe food handling to ensure all kitchen tasks meet high hygiene standards.
• Contribute fully to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and action instructions promptly.
• Advise on the supply and quality of items needed to carry out tasks and ensure timely ordering of replacements.
• Act with care towards residents and their visitors, respecting dignity and individuality.
