Job summary

Somerleigh Court in Dorchester is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef with meal preparation and to ensure meals meet residents’ dietary needs. You will help prepare fresh ingredients and maintain a clean kitchen in line with Health and Safety standards.

The role offers induction, ongoing training, a workplace pension, DBS clearance, uniform, and on-site parking, with a focus on teamwork and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Catering/cooking experience
• Food Safety
• Desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others
• Good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen environment
• Cleaning all crockery, cutlery and food preparation equipment
• Assist in preparation of meals for service
• Prepare food and ingredients for service.
