Job summary

Healthcare Ireland Group's Magherafelt Manor in Magherafelt, County Londonderry, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team and provide high-quality, person-centred dining experiences for residents.

You will help with meal preparation under the Chef, ensure dietary needs are met, maintain a clean kitchen, and support a safe, welcoming environment. Prior catering or kitchen experience and good English are preferred, and the role offers overtime, pension, and free parking.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and good verbal and written English.
• Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Desirable: experience in a care home or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Store and handle catering stock and equipment safely.
• Deliver meals and supplies within the unit.
• Assist with basic food preparation.
• Keep kitchen, catering and servery areas clean according to standards.
• Maintain a clean environment throughout the home and follow regulations.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Chef or Cook.
