Job summary

Care Concern Group’s Vane Hill Care Home in Torquay is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will support residents with complex needs by cleaning rooms, bathrooms and communal areas and assist with laundry tasks, while adhering to infection control and safety procedures.

The role offers £12.71 per hour, contracted to 24 or 30 hours per week, plus benefits such as paid DBS, a pension, uniform, and 5.6 weeks annual leave (full-time equivalent).

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene, infection control and safe working practices is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene and presentation standards.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying and ironing, labeling items correctly.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
