Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join Clare Court Care Home in Birmingham. You will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry, following our SOPs to deliver hotel-style service for residents.

Key duties include carrying out cleaning tasks, understanding surfaces and cleaning materials, and ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect. The role requires flexibility and compassion within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices, particularly Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality housekeeping/laundry service for residents.
• Ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding cleaning requirements of surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials.
• Ensuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect and their personal space is respected.
