Job summary

Caron Group is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join our family of care homes across mid and south Wales. You will maintain high cleanliness standards in all areas of the Home, support nurses, and work under the Housekeeper and nurse-in-charge.

This 0 hours contract role requires reliability, teamwork and the ability to work independently in a residential care setting. The position offers a supportive environment with training and development opportunities as part of our ethos of dignity,

Responsibilities

• Be aware of health & safety measures to reduce cross infection and ensure cleaning complies with infection control guidance.
• Use cleaning and hygiene products correctly and refer to COSHH guidance.
• Wear safety clothing and equipment when using products.
• Carry out in-house cleaning and laundry as directed by the Housekeeper.
• Work as scheduled to meet residents' and Home's needs.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the Home.
• Assist nurses to maintain cleanliness and infection control.
• Promote dignity, respect, freedom and choice for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and the company.
• Report Health & Safety concerns to the Manager promptly.
• Cover colleagues' duties during sickness, holidays, emergencies and incidents.
• Comply with Health & Safety at Work, COSHH, and company policies.
• Use equipment correctly and report any faults.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
