Job summary

Medirest, the healthcare services arm of Compass Group UK&I, is seeking a part-time Domestic (Zero Hours) to support hospital cleanliness across wards and public areas. The role involves cleaning, waste duties and adhering to safety guidelines.

The position is 22 hours per week, with DBS check costs covered by the employer. You will work flexibly as part of a caring team, communicating well with patients and staff while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Passionate about patient care and able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet business needs.
• Confident in a hospital environment and able to handle situations with distressed patients.
• No prior Domestic experience required, but willingness to learn and go the extra mile is essential.

Responsibilities

• High and low dusting, mopping, wiping and scrubbing surfaces.
• Cleaning of wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected and public areas.
• Maintain rubbish bins and remove waste when full.
• Maintain high hospital standards by keeping areas clean, presentable and safe for visitors.
• Use equipment in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
