Job summary

Medirest, part of Compass Group UK&I, is seeking a Domestic Assistant on a casual zero-hours basis to support hospital facilities and infection control. You will help maintain a clean, safe environment across wards and public areas, with a focus on delivering patient-centered cleanliness and high standards.

No prior Domestic Assistant experience is required; a willingness to learn and pride in your work are valued. DBS check is required and costs are covered by the employer.

Qualifications

• No prior Domestic Assistant experience required; willingness to learn.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• High and low dusting, mopping, wiping and scrubbing surfaces.
• Cleaning of wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected and public areas.
• Ensure rubbish bins are maintained and removed when full.
• Maintain high hospital standards by keeping areas clean, presentable and safe.
• Use equipment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Work flexibly to meet business needs, individually or in a team.
• Be comfortable in a hospital environment and interact with unwell patients.
• This role welcomes candidates without previous experience, with a willingness to learn.
• Role is subject to an DBS check; costs met by employer.
