Job summary

Moya Cole Hospice is seeking a Domestic Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors and colleagues. You will work as part of the Housekeeping team, carrying out cleaning duties in accordance with hospice policies and infection prevention standards.

The role requires compassion, reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Good standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE level or demonstrable workplace experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout hospice areas.
• Use, maintain and store cleaning equipment safely; report faults or shortages.
• Carry out daily, scheduled and ad hoc cleaning in line with policies and NHS standards.
• Follow infection control requirements and COSHH regulations; use PPE properly.
• Complete cleaning records and documentation accurately and on time.
• Participate in mandatory training and team meetings; support high-quality patient care.
