Job summary

Sandwell Council is recruiting Home Support Assistants to help older people, adults with disabilities, and care needs across the borough. You will work in people's homes and community settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will provide personal care, meal support, and assist with medication where appropriate, while promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing. Travel across the borough is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for older people or adults with disabilities is desirable.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training including Care Certificate.
• Willingness to travel throughout the borough and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Support meal preparation and healthy living.
• Administer medications where appropriate and safe.
• Encourage independence, monitor wellbeing and report changes.
• Maintain records and complete risk assessments.
