Job summary

HRM Homecare Services is seeking Support Workers to join our teams across Airdrie and North Lanarkshire, offering community-based care in people’s own homes. You will build respectful relationships, promote independence and help people live the life that matters while following care plans and reporting changes.

You will be part of a flexible team in a role that values safety, dignity and person-centered support, with opportunities for both part-time and full-time hours, mileage reimbursement,

Qualifications

• A compassionate, respectful approach and belief in independence and choice.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, initiative and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
• Willingness to learn and maintain knowledge, skills and competence for the role.
• A PVG check will be required.
• Previous care or support experience is welcome but not essential; we value values and potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and practical support, including washing, dressing, eating, medication and daily living activities, while protecting dignity.
• Understand each person's care plan, preferences and outcomes and support independence.
• Help people to take part in meaningful activities and community life.
• Observe changes in health, wellbeing, needs or circumstances and act appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate information promptly.
• Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and health and social care professionals.
• Promote choice, safety, wellbeing and a comfortable home environment.
• Contribute ideas to improve the person's support and service quality.
