Job summary

MatherCare is seeking a care worker to provide in-home personal care and support in the Flixton area. You will work with service users to follow individual care plans, promote independence and dignity, and liaise with families and other care staff.

Role includes shifts between 7:30am and 10:30am with weekdays and occasional weekends; mileage allowance is provided. A full UK driving licence is essential and you will be part of a safeguarding-conscious team.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and reliable with good organisational skills.
• Flexible to varying hours including weekends.
• Caring approach respecting service users’ dignity and independence.
• Good communication with users, families and staff.
• Able to follow care plans and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (rising, dressing, washing, meals).
• Support mobility and use of aids and equipment.
• Make beds, tidy rooms, light cleaning, laundry.
• Assist with eating and drinking as required.
• Contribute to specialised care plans (e.g., dementia, continence).
• Administer prescribed medications as per care plan.
• Support end-of-life care and activities for wellbeing.
• Report changes to service manager and participate in meetings.
