Job summary

Abbeycare Ltd is seeking Domiciliary Palliative Care Workers to support individuals at the end of life in their own homes. You will deliver person-centred care, provide symptom relief, and work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure comfort and dignity.

Training is provided for full role responsibilities. Roles are available on a part-time and full-time basis with shifts including evenings, weekends, and nights as required, in the Sheffield area.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and empathetic nature are essential.
• Experience in care or support roles is preferred, training provided.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care desirable; driving licence encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and intimate care with dignity and respect.
• Follow palliative care plans, assist with safe medication prompts.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Document changes and report to Service Manager and clinical teams.
• Collaborate with district nurses, GPs, and hospice teams.
• Assist in symptom management and end-of-life care in the home.
• Support with nutrition, hydration, and comfort measures.
• Ensure a clean, safe home environment and equipment usage.
• Liaise with families and provide guidance and reassurance.
• Maintain privacy, boundaries, and professional conduct.
