Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Complementary Therapist to join the Community Palliative Care Team. You will provide holistic therapies to patients in their own homes, working with a multidisciplinary team to improve quality of life by managing symptoms such as pain, anxiety and sleep disturbance.

Therapies may include Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Relaxation and MLD.

Qualifications

Experience delivering complementary therapies in healthcare settings.
Ability to work in patients' homes and in the community.
Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication and empathy with patients and carers.

Responsibilities

Deliver complementary therapy interventions tailored to the needs of patients and carers.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy programmes within a professional framework.
Work with nurses, doctors and community colleagues to provide holistic care.
Prioritise referrals and manage your own caseload effectively.
Support patients and their loved ones through challenging circumstances.
Help develop and promote complementary therapies as part of palliative care services.
