Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury. The role supports registered nurses in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and requires flexibility to cover day, night and weekend shifts. 37.5 hours weekly, with options for full/part‑time or job share.

You will help with personal care, mobility, feeding, and basic observations, while contributing to a safe and caring environment across the Trust sites.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 (NVQ) in health and social care or equivalent relevant experience.
• Willing to work towards Level 2 functional skills (Math & English).
• Care Certificate or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient comfort and well‑being through effective communication with patients and visitors.
• Assist patients out of bed and with dressing; support personal care.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the registered nurse.
• Assist with feeding, meals, and hydration; monitor intake.
• Support with manual handling and safe patient transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the ward environment.
