Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join Ward 25 (Medicine) at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Permanent full-time and part-time positions are available, offering an excellent entry point into the NHS and a supportive team environment.

You will assist with daily patient care, support with washing, feeding and mobility, and help maintain a clean, safe ward.

Responsibilities

• Supports registered nurses in providing safe, caring patient care.
• Assists with washing, eating, drinking and moving safely.
• Checks and records basic health information and reports concerns to a nurse.
• Keeps the ward clean, tidy and well-organised; assists with basic admin tasks.
• Works flexibly across wards and follows training, policies and safety rules.
• Demonstrates good communication, kindness and respect for patients.
