Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a caring, compassionate and patient approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork in a care setting.
• Understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, confidentiality and residents’ dignity.
• Ability to follow instructions, care plans, risk assessments and workplace policies.
• Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends and bank holidays as required.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to complete pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, maintaining dignity, privacy and preferences.
• Support mobility, transfers and safe handling per procedures.
• Assist with meals and drinks, meeting dietary and hydration needs.
• Provide emotional support, companionship and promote wellbeing.
• Observe residents and promptly report changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation per home procedures.
• Follow care plans and risk assessments to deliver consistent care.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment with infection control practices.
• Support daily activities and encourage social participation.
• Report accidents, safeguarding concerns and any abuse to senior staff immediately.
• Collaborate with nurses, carers and managers to ensure effective care delivery.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect residents’ information per policies.
• Attend mandatory training and supervision sessions.
