Job summary

Confidential is seeking a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support residents in care homes and home care settings. You will assist with daily activities, support care plans, and help promote wellbeing with professionalism and empathy.

A valid Enhanced DBS and Moving and Handling certification are expected. The role involves assisting with personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, record keeping, and transporting clients to appointments when needed.

Qualifications

• Care home or home care experience desirable
• Good English communication (verbal and written)
• Basic IT skills for records and documentation
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Strong organisational skills and attention to care plans
• Driving licence preferred but not mandatory; willing to learn driving
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support wellbeing

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, mobility)
• Support implementation of individualised care plans with healthcare professionals
• Provide companionship and emotional support, ensuring comfort and dignity
• Maintain accurate care records per organisational policies
• Assist with light domestic duties (meals, light cleaning)
• Support with medication reminders as directed by professionals
• Communicate with clients, families and team to ensure seamless care
• Drive or accompany clients to appointments or outings (driving skills advantageous)
