Job summary

Oakland Residential Community Care Centre in Swadlincote is seeking a Domestic Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents living with dementia. You will work as part of a dedicated team, carrying out cleaning in bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas, while upholding infection prevention standards and resident dignity.

Full training will be provided; the role offers generous annual leave, training and development opportunities and health and wellbeing

Qualifications

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Understanding of the needs of older people and people living with dementia.
• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Ensuring infection prevention and control procedures are followed.
• Safe use and storage of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Supporting a homely, comfortable environment for residents.
• Working closely with care colleagues.
• Maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents' individual needs.
