Job summary

Encompassborders in Bonchester Bridge is seeking a kind, patient support worker to assist an elderly client with daily living activities, personal care and medication within the home. The role involves up to 4 visits daily, including a bedtime shift with another carer, to support safety and comfort.

Experience in dementia care is desirable but not essential; the candidate should be reliable, discrete and capable of working closely with the family to maintain privacy and dignity at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience in care desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work sensitively in a home setting respecting privacy.

Responsibilities

• Support client to ensure safety and wellbeing by entering the property using a key safe if required.
• Assist with personal care needs including continence care and dressing.
• Support evening routine and medication administration using a MAR chart.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of client’s equipment and surroundings.
• Develop a positive relationship with client and family; work with a family member when required but also independently.
