Job summary

Autism Plus in Doncaster seeks empathetic Support Workers to provide person-centred support to adults with autism and learning disabilities in our Day Service and community settings. You will help individuals pursue goals, engage in activities, and maintain health and wellbeing, with full training provided and a 3-week induction.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with opportunities to develop practical care, cooking, personal care, and social engagement skills while working in a supportive

Qualifications

• Empathy and compassion for individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
• Strong communication skills with individuals and families.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in Day Service or community settings with activities according to Care Plans.
• Plan and lead group sessions such as arts, crafts, music, and drama.
• Support hobbies, interests, and social activities to promote independence and community integration.
• Provide practical support like cooking, personal care, and paperwork.
• Offer emotional support and adapt communication to each individual's needs.
• Respect privacy and maintain dignity at all times.
