Job summary

St Jude’s Care Ltd is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team across three homes in the South West. This 26-hour per week contract includes alternating weekends, with shifts 07:30 to 20:30, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independently and with dignity.

You will deliver person-centred care, encourage daily living skills, and maintain clear records while working closely with the care team to promote wellbeing and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism is essential.
• Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
• Willingness to learn, positive attitude and commitment to helping people live safely and independently.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical and emotional support in line with individual support plans.
• Encouraging independence and helping people develop daily living skills.
• Supporting routines, activities and community involvement.
• Promoting positive communication and using appropriate support strategies.
• Supporting individuals to manage their emotional wellbeing and behaviour positively.
• Maintaining accurate records and collaborating with the care team.
• Ensuring care is delivered safely, respectfully and empoweringly.
