Job summary

Westgate Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Care Practitioner for a 9‑month maternity cover. You will work 44 hours per week from 8:00am to 8:00pm, across four shifts with alternate weekends.

Responsibilities include high-quality, person-centred care, medication administration and daily record keeping within a supportive team. You will contribute to care plans, supervise new staff, and liaise with GPs and colleagues to ensure residents receive dignified, timely support.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK
• Previous care home or elderly care experience essential
• QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
• Medication training/competence
• Driven to improve standards and care quality

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
• Safely administer prescribed medications.
• Complete daily care records and documentation.
• Support induction, training and supervision of new staff.
• Monitor and review care plans to meet changing needs.
• Maintain clear daily records and effective communication.
• Monitor residents’ health and escalate concerns as needed.
• Collaborate with GPs and healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
