Job summary

The Old Vicarage is a family‑run residential care home in Otterton, East Devon, seeking a caring Care Assistant to join our team. You will report to the Head of Care and Registered Manager, with full training provided and the chance to grow into lead roles. A caring attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

We offer full-time, part-time or permanent positions, a uniform, and a supportive, homely environment focused on high-quality care and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Friendly, patient and compassionate approach to elderly residents.
• Willingness to learn with full training provided.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions from senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care and daily activities.
• Encourage residents to eat and stay hydrated.
• Assist with medications as directed by nursing staff.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety throughout shifts.
• Overtime pay of £1 extra per hour.
• Additional working hours are available.
• Receive substantial training and on-the-job support.
• Uniform will be provided.
• Supportive team environment and opportunities to progress to lead roles.
