Job summary

Presbyterian Church in Ireland, through Harold McCauley House, seeks caring Care Assistants to support older residents with dignity and compassion. Training is provided and NVQ/QCF qualifications are encouraged.

The role is 24 hours per week, day shifts, with a welcoming Christian ethos and full training opportunities. A supportive team environment and progression opportunities are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Willing to undertake induction training or NVQ/QCF level 2 in Health & Social Care.
• English literacy as required for duties.
• Willing to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).
• Willing to work flexibly to fulfil home requirements.
• No prior experience required; full training and support provided.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate care to residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
• Assisting residents with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility and daily activities.
• Encouraging independence while offering support where needed.
• Administering medication after appropriate training.
• Supporting residents with social and recreational activities.
• Maintaining accurate records (written and computerised).
