Job summary

Bupa cares for residents at Southlands Care Home in Harrogate. We are hiring a Care Assistant to provide person-centred care, support independence and respect residents' choices, within a supportive team.

Your role includes assisting with meals, personal care, documenting changes, and engaging residents in social activities. Full-time contract with alternate weekends; salary £13.30–£14.30 per hour depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
• Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation.
• Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
• Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
• Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements.
