Job summary

Highgate Care is seeking a Care Assistant at Maple Court in Scarborough to join a small, compassionate care group that values person-centred care. The role is permanent and full-time, with shifts totaling 38.5 hours per week.

Salary is quoted at £13.29 per hour, with sponsorship not currently available. The successful candidate will provide daily living assistance, maintain residents' dignity, and support social activities in a warm, welcoming home.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care setting is a bonus, but personality and values matter.
• Able to work flexibly across some evenings and weekends.
• Passionate about improving the lives of older people.
• Organised, reliable and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living while maintaining dignity.
• Assist with physical, emotional and spiritual care needs.
• Support mobility and use of aids for residents with limited mobility.
• Monitor residents for confusion or behavioural issues and report accordingly.
• Promote continence and assist with care for residents who are dying or ill.
• Record care planning needs and daily notes per policies.
• Support social activities and residents' hobbies in the home.
• Answer nurse calls, doors and phone, relay messages promptly.
• Under supervision, report on residents' well-being.
• Carry out regular checks on residents and keep the home clean and tidy.
• Keep equipment clean and maintained (wheelchairs, hearing aids, etc.).
• Record participation and feedback for meaningful engagement.
