Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Birmingham is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant to join our award-winning Bourn View Care Home team. You will help deliver high standards of personal care and support residents with compassion and respect.

We welcome applicants with or without formal care experience and provide a thorough induction and training programme. A DBS check is funded by Avery and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate initiative and respect residents and staff.
• Be an efficient, adaptable worker able to take instructions from the team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents in personal hygiene to maintain independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognising and escalating risks related to weight loss, pressure injuries, falls or infections.
• Acting courteously towards residents and visitors, maintaining dignity and individuality.
• Practising safe systems of work across tasks.
